HOL101 Advanced RoleTailoring with Dynamics NAV 2009 R2
10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m., Thursday, October 13
Speaker: Michael Rosenørn
Back by popular demand! This is a repeat of the instructor-led course presented last year, updated to Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009 R2. So if you missed out last year, here is your chance to get up close, personal and with your hands on. This lab walks you through the refactoring process of a form-based classic client solution, into an NAV 2009 R2 solution featuring one Role Center including the underlying List Places and Task Pages. The objectives of this lab are to introduce you to the background of the RoleTailored User Experience and understand how a role/user can benefit from the Role Center. Based on a simulated ISV solution, you will try elements of the refactoring process of going from a Classic Environment to the RoleTailored Client for a specific user/role.

HOL102 Advanced RoleTailored Client Extensibility
3:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m., Thursday, October 13
Speakers: Christian Abeln and Dmitry Chadayev
Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009 R2 includes multiple examples of the client extensibility application programming interface (API) for creating RoleTailored client control add-ins. In this Lab you will learn how to use the client extensibility API provided in the Microsoft.Dynamics.Framework.UI.Extensibility.dll assembly, which is installed with the RoleTailored client. We will walk through three exercises, starting from a very simple scenario of binding a field on a page to a client extensibility add-in and finishing with creating an advanced chart control which exchanges data with Microsoft Dynamics NAV in XML format.

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 14

HOL103 Advanced Dynamics NAV Web Services
7:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m., Friday, October 14
Speakers: Dmitry Chadayev and Hans Kierulff
In Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009 R2, the ability to expose objects as web services makes the integration of other systems with Microsoft Dynamics NAV a lot easier. In this Lab you will learn how web service integration with Microsoft Dynamics NAV is supported through web service–enabled pages and codeunits. We will demonstrate how external applications can read and write data on pages as well as call codeunits as XML web services, having their interfaces exposed in Web Services Description Language (WSDL). See how pages and codeunits that are published as web services from Microsoft Dynamics NAV become immediately available for web service requests over the network.
